Walks About

For nature lovers and hiking friends, this region offers proposals for walking along the various levadas, thus allowing visitors to encounter breathtaking panoramas of the island of Madeira, strolling through the island's ancient irrigation channels.

Once the Levada da Serra passes through the property, we suggest a walk towards Santo da Serra, which translates into a walk of less than an hour to the center of the village of Camacha.

Another option is a walk towards Funchal, which will mean a four/five hour walk to Monte: first walk to the end of the Levada do Vale Paraíso, then go down to catch the Levada dos Tornos that goes on to Monte. From Monte, you can go down to Funchal at another of the island's tourist attractions, by basket cart or cable car. The route back to Camacha can be done conveniently by regional bus nº 129.
